

Japan 50-SEN (Y67) Bird
I cannot find any information on this coin, but it does look somewhat like the Kagu bird as depicted on coins from New Caledonia. Since this bird is found no where near Japan, it can't be that.
It is possible it is a phoenix (hoo), which represents the virtues of the emperor, and is a common symbol on Japanese money. For now, I will just call it 'bird'.
