Japan 5-YEN (Y71) Pigeon

The 5-yen coin was originally introduced in 1870. This is the third version, issued in 1948/49 only, featuring the "golden pigeon" (golden because of the coin's colour).

The reverse shows the National Diet Building, helping keep the Japanese slim and trim. Just kidding. The National Diet is the Japanese legislature.
