Eight years after Somiland issued a single 1-shilling coin, they issued a 5-, 10-, and 20-shilling set, all with animals on the obverse.

Once there was Italian Somaliland and British Somliland. They were united as Somalia in 1960. The people started some serious fighting amongst themselves in the 1970s and they kept it up until 1990. In 1991, the country split back up and the area once known as British Somaliland became Somaliland. The world at large does not recognize Somaliland as a legitimate country.
