Mozambique 1-CENTAVO (KM132)

Rhinoceros

A small coin with a large rhinoceros. In May 2013 it was widely reported that the last rhino in Mozambique had been killed by poachers. However, some experts believe that they were already gone from the country. Regardless, in November 2013, the Western Black Rhinoceros was declared officially extinct. Everywhere.

In 2006 Mozambique's second monetary reform saw one new Metical replacing 1,000 old Meticais.
