This is the final year for this wonderful scene on Bolivian coins, which first appeared in 1893. By 1987, one-million peso bolivianos would become a single boliviano.

The Llama is an important animal in the Andean countries. It is used as a beast of burden, and supplies milk, meat, hides, and wool.
