

Kiribati 5-CENTS (KM3) Tokay Gecko
Part of Kiribati's first coins issued in 1979, the 5 cent gecko coin has not been re-minted since (as of 2014).
The Tokay gecko (Gekko gecko) is the second largest gecko species (males up to 50 cm long) and likes to live in rainforest trees and cliffs. It can also adapt to urban areas and will climb walls and ceilings at night munching on insects. They have bluish or grayish bodies with spots ranging from light yellow to bright red.
