American Bison
In 2004, the US Mint began issuing new designs on the 5-cent coin called the 'Westward Journey' series, with the return of the bison appearing in 2005. It is quite well done, with a beautiful engraving of the bison on the reverse, and a daring portrait of Thomas Jefferson on the obverse.
