USA 5-CENTS (KM134) American Bison
The 'Indian Head nickel' aka 'Buffalo nickel' actually features an American Bison on the reverse, which is quite different from a buffalo.
This coin was issued from 1913 to 1938, when it was replaced by the 'Jefferson nickel' which continues to this day.
i had a difficult time obtaining a suitable specimen for the Coin Zoo. While hundreds of millions were minted, the majority I found were either too worn out, or cost hundreds of dollars.
