Russia 10-RUBLES (Y-new) Hares
This coin is from the 'Cities of Military Glory' series that started in 2011.
This issue is for Kovrov, the second largest city in Vladimir Oblast. The city's coat of arms features a pair of hares, sitting back to back. At least I think they are hares, but only because somebody else said they were. Hares are in the genus Lepus, while rabbits are from at least eight different genera. I do not know the significance of hares for the city, but perhaps one is looking to the past and the other to the future?
Thanks to Maria for gifting me this coin!
