Japan 1-SEN (Y55) Yatagarasu

I was informed by the Director of Public Relations at the Japan Mint that this coin features Yatagarasu, a three-legged bird featured in mythologies of Asia and North Africa. (However, I can only see two legs?) It is either a crow or a raven, and is the bird of the sun goddess Amaterasu.

This coin was issued one year only (Yr. 13, 1938), then was switched to a smaller aluminum version.
