Armenia 50-DRAM (KM221) Wild Goat

In 2012 the Central Bank of Armenia issued a series of 50 dram circulating coins celebrating the regions of Armenia. This coin commemorates Vayots Dzor Province.

The majestic creature on this coin is a Wild goat (Capra aegagrus), the ancestor of domestic goats. (Note: This is NOT a Chamois, which is a Mountain goat from a different genus. You can tell by the horns, and by the fact that R. rubicapra are not found in Armenia.)

  • Diameter: 21.3 mm
  • Composition: Brass-clad steel
  • CAT#: KM221
