Seychelles 1-CENT (KM30)

Damselfish

There are about 1,000 species of fish in Seychelles. There are also 51 species of Damselfish (family Pomacentridae, which also includes Clownfish) in the western Indian Ocean.

Some sources call this a "Boueteur fish" but go ahead and do a Google search on that terms and you will see four pages (only) of results, and every single one of them is referencing coins. In other words, it is highly unlikely there is such a fish, except in the world of numismatics.

This coin was issued in 1977 only and replaced the first coin of the new Republic of Seychelles that was issued the previous year.
