Chad
The Republic of Chad is home to over 200 different ethnic and linguistic groups. Arabic and French are the two official languages.
Human populations have existed in the area for many thousands of years, and by the end of the first millenium BCE many states and empires had risen and fallen. Some of the most important archeological sites in Africa are in Chad, dating to over 4,000 years ago.
