This FAO issue coin features a spiraling swarm of twenty bees flying from their beehive.
Bee keeping must have been somewhat important when this coin was issued (1975, 1977, 1979), but apparently as of 2009 commercial beekeeping in Tonga was on the decline [REF].
The reverse legend 'Fakalahi me'akai' is Tongan for 'Grow more food'.
This coin was minted between 1975 and 1979 and is part of the "counting coins" series (20 bees, 20 seniti).
