The coin is better known as the 'Walking Liberty Half Dollar' and while Liberty on the obverse is stunningly beautiful, it is the Bald Eagle that earns it a place in this collection. These coins were issued from 1916 to 1947.
The Bald Eagle is the national bird and symbol of the United States of America and it is presented beautifully on this coin. The eagle stands on a rocky outcrop, clutching a pine branch in its right claw.
