Although Cape Verde has many different tuna species, the White seabream (aka Diplodus sargus aka Sargo) is featured on this circulating FAO World Fisheries Conference coin, probably because it is important as a local food source. The "sargo" only tastes good fresh out of the sea, so it is typically sold and eaten only where it is caught.
This coin was issued in 1984 only.
