Bori (Wolf)

The stylized animals on this series of Kazakhstan coins is based on Scythian (Saka) figurines found during excavations of burial mounds.

Here is the Kazakh National Bank's explanation for this image:

"Wolf" (bori) is ancient totem personage to whom Saks bowed. The representation was taken from Altai memorials of VI century BCE. Wolf was respected by all Turkic peoples as a symbol of bravery and nobility of our ancestry.

"Saks" are better known as the Scythians.
