Uruguay 5-CENTESIMOS (KM73) Cow

Uruguay is one of a handful of countries that have more cattle than people. As of 2016, there are about 3.3 million people in the country with over 12 million cattle. That is why Uruguay is sometimes referred to as "one big farm."

Cattle in Uruguay are raised naturally, meaning they graze freely on grass and drink from natural water sources. In addition, Uruguay has the most technically advanced cattle tracking system in the world.

This 12-sided coin was minted in 1977 and 1978 only, and was demonetized in 1991.
