The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic is a partically recognised state that claims sovereignty over the former Spanish colony of Western Sahara. The SADR was proclaimed in 1976 and controls about 20-25% of the territory it claims. Morocco controls the rest, which it calls its southern provinces (and the SADR calls it occupied territory).
