Syria 1-PIASTRE (KM71)

Lions

Syria adopted the pound in 1919 with 100 piastres (aka Qirsh aka Ghirsh) to the pound.

This coin was minted between 1929 and 1936 and is from the period when France was heavily invested in mucking about in Syria. It features the same double lion head design as the Lebanon piastre from the same period (KM3).
