I am going to call these Bonga fish, because they are the single most important fish for food in the country, and because a similar motif with confirmed Bonga appears on an earlier coin.
Mammy (or "Madam") Yoko was Queen of Kpaa Mende Seneghum (precursor to Sierra Leone) from 1878-1908.

The Republic of Sierra Leone is a tropical country in West Africa, bordering the Atlantic Ocean. It gained independence from Great Britain in 1961 and the Republic was declared in 1971. Unfortunately, the country was torn apart by civil war lasting almost 10 years (1991-2000). Today, the country is slowly transitioning to a successful economy, based mainly on its rich mineral resources, including diamonds.
