The Republic of
Namibia is located in Southern Africa, bordering the Atlantic Ocean. Namibia gained independence from South Africa in 1990 following the Namibian War of Independence. With just over 2 million people and over 825,000 square kilometers of territory, Namibia is the second least densely populated country in the world. Namibia is plagued by serious problems, such as the AIDS epidemic and child labour.
