United Kingdom 10-PENCE (KM989) Lion
If you let one 'Heraldic' lion into the zoo, you don't have to necessarily let them all in. If the lion is walking on its hind legs, holding stuff like scepters in its paws, you (probably) won't find it in the zoo. But the lion on this coin is acting very lion-like (in an ideal kind of way). It just happens to have a crown stuck on its head.
This fellow first appeared in 1968 and in 1992 he shrunk a bit (KM938b). This coin represents his last appearance (so far). It was minted from 1998 to 2008, although the first year for circulation was 2000.
Thanks to Iain from England for gifting this coin!
