Spain 2-EURO (KM1337) Bison
This circulating commemorative coin celebrates the Cave of Altamira, a cave in Spain famous for its paintings from the Upper Paleolithic period. It was the first cave discovered with prehistoric paintings.
The coin features an iconic image of a bison. The cave paintings date from 35,000 years ago, up to 13,000 years ago when the entrance was sealed during a rock slide.
