Russia 50-RUBLES (Y368) Wisent
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation says this coin features an Aurochs. That's an extinct ancestor of modern cows, with the distinction that it was absolutely huge (shoulder height of 2 m and weighing 1,000 kg). However, one look at the picture in the link tells you something is wrong with that, because this looks nothing like an Auroch and everything like a Wisent (aka European Bison), the heaviest living land mammal in Europe. Once endangered, it is currently listed as vulnerable. During the middle ages, they were killed in large numbers for their hides, and to make drinking cups out of their horns.
