Russia 50-RUBLES (Y332) Caucasian Grouse

Non-circulating coin

The Krause catalogue calls it a Caucasian Black Grouse, the Bank of Russia calls it both a Caucasian Grouse and a Caucasian Heathcock. The generally accepted name is simply Caucasian Grouse, according to my quasi-scientific method of tallying Google results.

This large grouse is a close relative of the Eurasian Black Grouse, which probably explains why the term 'black' gets inserted in its name from time to time. Further, Wikipedia states that this is the least-known grouse in the world. In 2008 it was listed as a 'Near Threatened' species.
