In 1960 Monaco underwent monetary reform, replacing 100 old francs with 1 new franc. This bi-metallic 10 franc coin is the only circulating coin during this period with a knight on horseback. It was issued from 1989 until 2000. (Monaco switched to the Euro in 2002.)
While the coin does not have the room to execute the excellent engravings that appear on the old 50 and 100 franc coins, the engraver still did a wonderful job on this one.
All coin images in Daniel's Coin Zoo are from my personal collection. I collect, research, and personally photograph every coin displayed on this site. PLEASE do not take my images without permission. If you would like to use any coin image you see, just ask me. Thank you.
