If you want to learn more about your coin, just pop "wren" in the search box on the left, and hit enter. The coin is a farthing, which is a quarter-penny. But don't confuse penny with what Canadians and Americans call "pennies" because they are two totally different things! In Canada and the US, we have cents. Canada had pennies and half-pennies in the colonial days, but by 1858 when we got our first official coinage, it was decimal cents and dollars. Calling a cent a "penny" is slang, and we do it because those before us were just like us: they couldn't change. (That could be a cheap pun.) By the way, the plural of penny is pence. Anyway, enjoy your coin, or feel free to pass it on if you wish (but avoid wet caches). If you are a regular Coin Zoo visitor and are wondering what the heck I am talking about, you can visit my personal (and somewhat incomplete) geocaching pages HERE. (Or if you do know what I am talking about, feel free to take a look too!) You can also view the "COG Spring Fling" geocaching event HERE. Cheers,

The Coin Zoo welcomes those who attended the COG Spring Fling geocaching event and were lucky enough to get one of the "Wren Nest" prizes. There were only 36 coins to give away, and quite a few more people than that, so the early bird gets the worm. (So to speak.)
