| Hey! Where is all the info? |
 | Well, the Coin Zoo is still under construction and the Zookeeper has no idea what kind of information people would be looking for.
Therefore, just click the "CONTACT ZOOKEEPER" link at the bottom of the page (any page) and send your question in! |
| What is the KM-number thing in the coin title? |
 | KM stands for Krause-Mishler. Chester L. Krause and Clifford Mishler are the authors of very large world coin catalogues used by collectors. The very first coin a country issues would have KM#1, and so on. KM numbers only change if something about the coin changes (e.g. design, size, composition). |
| Are the coins pictured to scale? |
 | Yes and no. When you are looking at the full size pictures of the coins, the box that holds them is 400 pixels square. This translates to an approximate coin size of 25.5 mm. Any coin that is this size, or smaller, will appear to scale relative to each other. But any coin that is larger than 25.5 mm has been scaled down to fit.
It is easy to tell the coins that are smaller, because there is space around the edges. |
