Belize 1-DOLLAR (KM136) Jabiru

The Jabiru stork (Jabiru mycteria) is the tallest flying bird in the lower Americas with the second largest wingspan (after the Andean Condor). Males, which are larger, can stand up to 1.5 m tall. That's a tall bird. They also have a bright red pouch at the base of the neck.

These birds eat a lot of fish, molluscs, frogs, and even small mammals, reptiles, and eggs.

This coin was minted in 2012 and unlike the other Belize coins in the Coin Zoo, it actually circulated.
