South Korea 500-WON (KM27)

Red-crowned crane

The Red-crowned crane (aka Grus japonensis, Japanese Crane, or Manchurian Crane) is one of the largest cranes, measuring up to 158 cm tall with a wing span up to 250 cm (that's over 8 feet for those whose measuring systems are still stuck in the dark ages).

It is an endangered species, with less than 3,000 left in the wild.

As far as I know, this is the only circulating animal coin minted by South Korea.
