India 1-RUPEE (KM82) Zebu cow
This FAO coin was issued in 1988 to promote "rainfed farming" which I presume is farming that relies on rain instead of wells or water diversion. It looks like the woman on the coin is farming sunflowers, which is an oilseed crop that was introduced in the 1960s with total production measuring in the hundreds of thousands tonnes. And, over her right shoulder (left side of the coin) we see a single zebu cow in the background.
Many thanks to Maria for donating this coin to the Coin Zoo!
