Uganda 200-SHILLINGS (KM68a)

Tilapia

Tilapia is the common name for nearly 100 species of cichlid fish. They are fresh water fish, and tilapia farming is big in Uganda.

In 1987, Uganda re-monetized with a new shilling and no smaller subdivisions. The smallest denomination is one shilling and the largest (circulating) is 500 shillings. This coin was first issued in 1998 in copper-nickel (KM68), then in 2007 it was switched to nickel-clad steel.
