Rhodesia and Nyasaland 6-PENCE (KM4) Leopard
This beautiful feline coin was issued from 1955-1957 and 1962-1963. Contrary to popular belief, that feline is a leopard, not a lion.
Rhodesia and Nyasaland's coat of arms features a sable antelope on the left, and a leopard on the right. Both these animals made frequent appearances on the country's coins and bank notes. Also, the excellent engraving on this coin depicts a very realistic leopard which is characterized by relatively short legs and a long body, which is very different from a female lion.
