Kenya
The Republic of Kenya is the site of some of humanities earliest ancestors, dating back millions of years. With its position on the coast, the area was an important centre of Swahili culture and trade from the first to 19th centuries.
In the late 19th century, colonialism arrived, with the British laying claim in 1888. The country regained its independence in 1964. Kenya is home to lots of animals.
